Our Story

In April 2020, amidst the chaos of a global pandemic, Liliana and Chris crossed paths on Instagram. With the world locked down and uncertainty in the air, our virtual connection blossomed into something real. We officially began dating in May, but our first date had to wait until July. We were both too cautious to risk spreading COVID-19, so instead of a traditional outing, our first date was a charming adventure in Chris's 2013 Honda Civic, with In-N-Out burgers and fries.

The pandemic forced us to get real, fast. With everything closed and no distractions, we spent hours talking and enjoying each other’s company at home. This unique setting allowed us to bond deeply and quickly, setting the stage for a relationship full of laughter and genuine connection.

By March 2021, at just 23 years old, we took a major step together and bought our first home. Soon after, our family grew with the adoption of our two adorable cats, Knight and Don. In 2024, we added a new member to our furry clan—our playful Goldendoodle, Bruno!

Travel has been a shared passion, and we’ve explored the vibrant streets of Mexico (with Puebla stealing our hearts 😉), the romantic allure of France, and the timeless beauty of Italy. More adventures are on the horizon!

Our journey together has been full of milestones. Liliana supported Chris as he completed his Bachelor's degree from Fresno State and pursued his Master’s degree. In turn, Chris has cheered on Liliana as she earned her Master’s in School Counseling and embarked on her career as a school counselor at Wilson Elementary in Dinuba, CA.

On May 20, 2023, to celebrate our third anniversary and with a bit of practical motivation (Chris was about to age out of his parents' health insurance plan!), we eloped at city hall in Madera, CA. We shared this special moment with our parents and sisters, followed by a dinner at Olive Garden.

Though our relationship has been anything but conventional, we’ve always known we wanted to celebrate our love with those closest to us.

Fun Facts:

  • Before we were born, our dads worked together in the fields after arriving in the U.S. How’s that for fate?

  • On our first date, Liliana's youngest sister, Alina, thought it would be hilarious to lock us out of the backyard. Liliana had to jump the fence to let us back in!

  • Chris earned the nickname “Sleeping Beauty” during the first year of our relationship because he could always be found napping when he visited Liliana’s parents’ house.

  • Our first day trip was to Pismo, CA, where we savored some delicious clam chowder soup.

Here's to our extraordinary journey and the many adventures still to come!

WHAT TO DO IN PUEBLA

It is located in the heart of the area known as the Historic Center of the city, and is an important part of the historical area of monuments declared World Heritage by UNESCO.

Street surrounded by colorful buildings that houses an antiques and crafts market on weekends, apparently owes its name to the fact that in colonial times, the flooding of the San Francisco River caused numerous floods on South 6th Street. Due to this, the residents of the town chose to put this phenomenon to useful use, installing mills to take advantage of this natural water supply, but these activities brought with them a large proliferation of toads in the area.

A work from the 17th century, the summit of the New Spain baroque, it was described in its time as The House of Gold, as well as the eighth wonder of the world by Brother Diego de Gorozpe, in a print from 1690.

A picturesque crafts market in the region where you can see and buy crafts of the highest quality.

The International Baroque Museum is a museum of baroque art designed by Japanese architect Toyo Itō and located in Puebla de Zaragoza, Puebla, Mexico. It was inaugurated on February 4, 2016

The Cathedral Basilica of Puebla is the episcopal seat of the Archdiocese of Puebla. It is one of the most important properties in the historic center, declared a World Heritage Site.

The Palafoxiana Library is a bibliographical facility in the city of Puebla, founded by the Spanish bishop Juan de Palafox y Mendoza in 1646.
